The South Carolina Aviation Association is excited to request Nominations for the South Carolina Airport Project of the Year for 2025. Nominations are requested for both General Aviation Airports and Commercial Service Airports. An airport from each category will receive an award.

Nominations are due by December 1, 2026, and the winners will be announced at the SCAA Annual Conference, February 10-12, 2027, in Hilton Head.

2026 South Carolina Airport Project of the Year Guidelines and Nomination Form
Nomination Form Submission Deadline: December 1, 2026

Nominations will be accepted in two categories: General Aviation Airports and Commercial Service Airports. One airport from each category will be recognized at the 2027 SCAA Conference in Hilton Head Island, South Carolina.

PROGRAM GUIDELINES
The awards (Commercial Service Airport and General Aviation Airport) will be presented on behalf of the South Carolina Aviation Association (SCAA) by the SCAA Board of Directors for:

  1. A project that significantly improves airport capacity; or
  2. A project that significantly improves airport safety; or
  3. A project that was significantly innovative or of such magnitude that its principles can be applied to numerous airports in the state; or
  4. A project that required/demonstrated extraordinary resourcefulness; or
  5. A project that generated a notable regional economic impact; or
  6. Any combination of the above.

PROJECT CRITERIA:

  • The project must have been completed between October 1, 2025, and September 30, 2026.
  • The project should demonstrate that it was completed to the satisfaction of the Airport Owner/Sponsor:
    1. On time according to the contract schedule
    2. Constructed within the established budget
    3. Quality of work product meets industry standard or better, and
    4. Project management was conducted properly throughout the project duration, including closeout.
