North Charleston Seminar – The Air Up There

July 31 @ 2:30 pm - 4:00 pm

What is Airspace and Why is it important? Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) share the National Airspace System (NAS) with manned aircraft. Many manned aircraft, such as aerial applicators, EMS helicopters, power line patrols, military aircraft, and arriving/departing aircraft operate at very low altitudes.

In order to avoid conflicts or collisions with manned aircraft, UAS pilots must be familiar with and comply with airspace regulations. This presentation describes Airspace Classifications and the need to obtain Airspace Authorizations in certain airspace. UAS pilots will also learn the role of Air Traffic Control.
