Georgetown Safety Seminar: Interruptions and Distractions

January 25, 2020 @ 10:00 am - 11:00 am

In this presentation FAASTeam Representative Gary Burleson will discuss one aspect of Aeronautical Decision Making (ADM), dealing with distractions and interruptions, two hazards that we need to manage whenever we are walking, driving or flying a plane.

We’ll cite some statistics on distracted driving and discuss how distractions led to the loss of an airliner. We’ll also talk about interruptions – a type of distraction that can be a significant hazard when it occurs in a critical operational phase of flight.

We’ll also offer some suggestions and best practices for dealing with distractions and interruptions.

This is Part 1 of a 2 Part program. The second program will start at 10:45 am. Please register for both parts.
